He was my best friend since we meet . While we grew distant he is always on my mind . He can lay his head and rest now as his job is done . I am saddened to just find out . My love and prayer start to his family and everyone who knew him . You couldn’t resist his personality . I miss you but have always carried you in my heart my friend . I can continue to as well . 

Hi Travis, I stopped by the store tonight on my regular visit and wondered where you were. Your co-worker told me the news of your passing.  I will miss you. My prayers go out to your Mom and Dad and entire family. I love you.

I was shocked when I heard that Travis had passed away as I am sure everyone else was. I and many others that worked with him will miss him.  It was a pleasure to wok with him.  He was just a very special person.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I am going to miss Mike. He was a good person with a good heart. He knew no strangers. I am so glad that our paths crossed and I got the pleasure to work and know him for over ten years.  It has been so wonderful knowing him.  To his mother- he loved you dearly. He always talked about you and wanted to look out for you. May God help you and your family during this time of your loss.

Michael (I never would call you Travis), Mere words cannot express the long lasting friendship I had with you for over 30 years.  You were such a sweet person.  I enjoyed all the years of friendship, shopping trips, eating out.  You will be truly missed. You touched so many people with your laughter, love for life, and kind words. I was truly shocked to hear of Mike's passing.  We have lost a loving kind person.  He loved my cooking and we shared many laughs. My prayers and thoughts are with his family. May God bless you all.

Mike was the most genuine , loving and giving person , I worked with him for over 24 years and I cannot believe his smile and laughter and genuine caring for others will not be there at WakeMed to greet us . He was one of a kind and one of the best people I have ever known.

I pray that Michael's family finds comfort in knowing that he touched so many lives in such a gentle, loving and compassionate way.  As sad as I've been since I heard that he'd passed, my heart aches for his family and for those who were fortunate enough to work with him every day. What an engaging and totally lovable person he was.  His smile was infectious and his laughter was uplifting.  Always joyfully singing a song, he sings now with a beautiful choir of Angels.  So Michael rest now in peace sweet man, and sing throughout the Heavens so that if we listen hard enough, we may hear you again.

Travis always made me smile when I got off the elevator to start my shift. He was one of the kindest and most caring person I have known. He will be truly missed.

I never met a person quite like Mike. What a lover of ALL people! I met him the first day I walked on the mother/baby unit at Wakemed back in October 1993. He remembered the white dress I was wearing years later! I refused to call him Travis, he was always Mike to me. Some of my best memories from my years at Wakemed involve Mike. He gave me wonderful, loving support during some of the lowest points of my life and I always called him my "brother". We had great talked about God and I knew he was a believer. Rest peacefully my sweet brother. Look for my sister in Heaven. She will LOVE you!

Michael-Words can not say what a great person the world has lost but what a strong impact you made on so many lives every day!  You had love for every person you met and touched their lives in a special you!  You were always concerned about your coworkers personal lives and remembered every aspect of their lives!  You always were concerned about all my family members and you were always a phone call away when I needed anything during the night when my family members were in the hospital.  The world would be a much better place if GOD created more people like you who loved life and truly cared about every person they came in contact with.  I will always remember you and all our talks.  You were very special to both me and my family.  Love always!

Mike was there as long as I can remember. ..He was a hard worker but would stop and chat and still keep his desk going. We had many talks about God, family, friends and life. He was a very loving and special person. I pray that one day we meet again in heaven.

I've heard the old adage multiple times...  "if you died today, what will people say about you, or remember about you?".  

As for you,Travis...  i couldn't pass you through the hallways of Wake Med & meet eye contact w/ you, without you stopping me to chat.  And...  you had no interest in just making polite small-talk...  oh no.  You asked a/b my children by name & wanted updates, always remembering whatever i last told you a/b them,  (even though you'd never met them).  You asked a/b my husband, & how his schooling was progressing (& later, how his job was).  You always wanted to know, the latest thing i learned about working on cars, & encouraged me to not feel intimidated by all the guys when i went to mechanics school.  You said more than once, that i should follow my dream of becoming a photographer...  & that life is too short to do things that make you unhappy.  There were unhappy nights i had at the hospital...  & you truly made me smile at the last minute, so i wouldn't go home feeling all BLAH.  

When i think of you, Travis...  i think of a man who loved deeply, & did his best to not keep it inside, but spread it to every person who crossed your path.  This world will miss you, sweet man...  & so will i.

If there was ever a person in this world who just truly LOVED people...  it was you.  And THAT, my friend, is the legacy you have left behind.  Well done :)

I met Mike 25+years ago and we became good friends. He didn`t meet strangers and went beyond the expectation of the patients, team and other departments. The day we realized Jonhston was our home. We bonded even more sharing our childhood and family secrets. Mike did love his Granny and family. Mike was a blessing to know. He could light up a room with his smile.My prayers of comfort and healing will be you all.My prayers and God`s blessings to You !
