She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Pollard; her mother Daphine and her father Lawrence. Her sister, Peggy Crawford (Lee); and her brothers, Charles Horton (Noa Mae), Joe Hicks (Lillian), and James Hicks (Frances).
Miriam is survived by her brother, Danny Hicks (Jill); her son, Jimmy Pollard; her daughter, Beverly Pollard (Candace); her granddaughter, Taylor Brown (Jason); her grandson, Alston (Emma); and her four loving great-grandchildren, Jason Brown, Brennly Brown, AJ Kornegay, and Henry Kornegay.
Miriam’s family was the center of her life, and she was deeply loved by all who knew her. She was also dearly loved by her faithful rescued dog, Gizmo, who brought her much joy and companionship.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held at McLaurin Funeral Home, on September 23, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 Clayton Boulevard, Clayton, North Carolina, on September 23, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Interment will take place at Clyde's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 16657 Buffalo Rd, Wendell, NC, on September 23, 2026.
