

Myrtice Elizabeth Pittman, formerly Myrtice Best died peacefully in her home Friday afternoon September 2, 2016 in Clayton, North Carolina at the age of ninety two. Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Jimmie Lincoln Pittman; her daughter, Barbara Ann Crevis; five sisters, Lois Best, Mary Crevis, Sister Mary Helen Best, Eleanor Tippins, and Ann Condie; three brothers, Harry Best, Charlie Best, and Michael Best. Mrs. Pittman is survived by her daughter, Sandra Pittman Wadsworth and husband James "Bud" Wadsworth of Selma, North Carolina; a brother, John Edward Best of Savannah, Georgia; a sister, Patricia Yates of Florida; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Savannah Drake and husband Todd Drake of Santa Rosa, Florida, Katherine Elizabeth Wadsworth and Jennifer Austin Wadsworth both of Raleigh, North Carolina; and three great-grandchildren Sutton Drake, Carly Drake, and Harper Drake all of Santa Rosa Florida. Myrtice Pittman was born April 22, 1924 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Lee Charles Best and Lois Griggs. She married Lieutenant Colonel Jimmie Lincoln Pittman from Micro, North Carolina. His Army career moved them all over the world and together they lived in many places including Japan and Germany. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for September 17th at the former residence of Mrs. Pittman beginning at 1:00 PM.
