Nadine Stephenson Wells

Nadine Stephenson Wells, age 86, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home, prior to the service.

She was born in Johnston County on May 21, 1937 to the late Albert Hugh Stephenson and the late Mary Ryals Stephenson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Sue and Judy and brother, Kenneth. Nadine was a member of Baptist Center Baptist Church and retired from Annie V’s Florist. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, arranging flowers and attending local community functions with her friends.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Billy Harold Wells; two sons, Hal Wells and Shane Wells (Mary); grandchildren, Molly, Ryals, Ivy and Marina.
