Nancy Ann Carey

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM on Friday, September 25, 2026 at McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 Clayton Boulevard, Clayton, North Carolina.

A private graveside service will be held at Knollwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Carey was born in White Plains, New York on November 18, 1945 to the late Anthony (Tony) Catalano and the late Evelyn Antonucci Catalano. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister in-law Susan Catalano.

She attended Berkeley Secretarial College and retired from Texaco Oil Company in Beacon, New York. Mrs. Carey was a parishioner at Christ the King Church in Clayton. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking, but most important to her was spending time with her cherished family--children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kind, giving, and loving spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Carey; son David (Leatha) Carey of Benson, North Carolina; daughter Debra Carey of Clayton, North Carolina; sister Joan Burmester (Rick) of Yorktown Heights, New York; brothers Dominick (Agnes) Catalano of South Salem, New York and Anthony Jr. Catalano of Yorktown Heights, New York; grandchildren Robert (Sarah) Carey of Niceville, Florida, Jeremy Carey of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Antonio Navarro III of Raleigh, North Carolina and Max Carey of Charlotte, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Emma, Madeleine, Robert Jr., Violet, Annabella, Emmitt and Grayson.
