P. Cooper Carroll

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Charles Ennis and Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Cooper was born in Johnston County, North Carolina on January 8, 1940, to the late Millard Carroll and the late Dessie Brown Carroll. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Carroll.

Mr. Carroll was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Athey Products as an expeditor. He was a longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Clayton and enjoyed being with his family, attending events with family and friends, and sitting at Bojangles talking with his friends. He was an avid Clayton Comets Football fan for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shelia Lee Carroll; his daughters and their spouses, Tammy and Shane Jones, Kim Carroll and Brian Garrett; grandchildren, Devin Carroll, Jarrott Stephenson, and Kayla Phillips; brothers and sisters, Milton Carroll, Laura Langdon, Larry Truman and Debbie Carroll; sister-in-law, Judy Huddleston; cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.
