PHILIP WAYNE WILLIAMS August 21, 1940 – May 8, 2015 Clayton: Phillip Wayne Williams, age 74, passed away on Friday, May 08, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 11, 2015 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Raleigh with Reverend Anita Taylor and Reverend Gerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. He was a son of the late James Eldon Williams and the late Eva Overman Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bartman Williams and a granddaughter, Brittany Williams. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Fulghum Williams; five children, David Sanderlin (Paula), Darrell Sanderlin (Kimmey), Christi W. Snuggs (Jim), Jennifer W. Costa (Abe), and Libby W. Martin (Andy); sixteen grandchildren; a sister, Donna W. Creech; and a brother, Eddie M. Williams. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM Sunday, May 10, 2015 at McLaurin Funeral Home, Highway US 70, Clayton, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church General Fund or Transitions Life Care of Wake County or Alzheimer’s Research.
