Phil was the son of the late Bobby and Jewell Barker. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie J. Gantt.
He is survived by his sisters, Sherry L. Burrow and husband, Phil and Velvie Venita Ledger and husband, Tim ; brothers, William M. Barker and Keith A. Barker; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Phil proudly served his country for 24 years in the U.S. Army and retired from the National Guard. He loved the Lord and had a big heart. Phil graciously served his community and was known as the “hotdog man” as he helped provide and cook for the homeless and less fortunate in several communities.
Phil was a beloved son, brother, and uncle, and he was loved by all.
A Graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, Virginia.
