
Robert Grant Hudson, 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2015, with loved ones by his side. A native of Attleboro, MA, he was born May 2, 1948 to the late Theodore Charles, Jr. and Marjorie Grant Hudson. He attended schools in Attleboro, MA, and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1970. He lived in Nottingham, NH, most of his adult life and moved to Clayton, NC in 2007, where he enjoyed his retirement. He loved God, his family, his extended Amelia Church family, and many dear friends and students that he knew over the years. He enjoyed relationships with people and music. His vocal talents resulted in his singing in various venues: Manchester Choral Society, “The Crown’s Delight,” Newfields and Amelia Church choirs, at Amelia’s “Wednesday Night Live, ... In addition to singing, Bob’s theatrical talents led him to perform and star in numerous musicals with various NH theater groups. “Grumps”(as he is known by his grandson) enjoyed building & remodeling houses, cooking, gardening, various card and board games with family members and friends, Church activities and small group spiritual discussions… LIFE!
He is survived by his wife, Carol (York) Hudson, of Clayton; his son, Benjamin Grant Hudson, daughter-in-law, Nicole Gina Hudson, and grandson, Brady Grant Hudson, of Wake Forest, NC; his Brother Charles, of North Easton, MA; his sister, Linda Hudson and husband, Randy Burnham of Westport, CT; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he dearly loved.
A celebration of his life and faith will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Amelia Church, 1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton, NC 27520.
In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to remember Bob with a gift is encouraged to make a donation to Amelia Christian Church, with a notation that it is in memory of Bob Hudson and designated for “Amelia Youth and Adult Missions Outreach” groups.
