Robert (Bob) Scordato, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on June 24, 2018 at Transitions Hospice House of Wake County. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Trish) Scordato; his children, Kelly, Ryan and Nikki; his brother, John Scordato of Hillsdale, NJ and sister, Susan Meyers of Conway, SC.
Bob was born February 14, 1964, in Ordell, New Jersey to Joseph Scordato and Claire (Duffy) Scordato. As an active athlete of Park Ridge High School, Bob lettered in Baseball, Basketball and participated in football and any other active sports activity available. He was loved by many in his hometown. Bob and Trish were married in September 1997 in Holmdel, New Jersey.
Shortly thereafter, they moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to where Bob was employed by BTI, Inc. as a telecom manager until he decided to fill his lifelong dream of being a police officer. He joined the Wake County Sheriff’s office as a Detention officer. Often called Skiddles, he loved his co-workers, and the impacts he made on all those he interacted with.
Bob will be remembered for his love of God, family and his comical statements, such as ‘look at that zipper head?!’. In addition to being the consummate warrior through all his challenges with kidney disease and cancer, Bob will also be remembered for his love of Duke University Basketball, Dallas Cowboys, his love of German Shepherds, his ability to be a great friend, his being down to earth, and being the one person that would be there for you if you needed someone.
The family of Bob wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses at Wake County Hospice d.b.a. Transitions, Dr. Eugene Kovalic, Duke University, and our friends and family members at Southside Community Church for all the support, love and guidance through life.
