Ryan David Hayward, 46, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away on July 2, 2026. Born on May 7, 1980, in Atlanta, Georgia, Ryan lived a life marked by faith, service, laughter, and unwavering love for those around him.
Ryan was the beloved son of Barbara and David Hayward, devoted husband to Brooke Hayward for 24 wonderful years, and proud father to Holden (18), Breyson (15), and Avery (13). He is also survived by his sister, Lauren Hunsinger, along with many extended family members, cherished friends, and countless people whose lives were touched by his kindness and ministry.
For his entire adult life, Ryan faithfully served others through full-time ministry. Whether offering encouragement, sharing God’s love, or simply being present during life’s most difficult moments, he considered serving others a calling rather than a career. His compassion, humility, and steadfast faith left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
While Ryan loved serving others, his greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband who loved Brooke wholeheartedly and a father who treasured every opportunity to make memories with his children. His quick wit, contagious laughter, playful spirit, and ability to make ordinary moments unforgettable will be deeply missed. Ryan had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved, valued, and welcome, and his home was filled with joy because of the love he poured into those closest to him.
Though his time on earth was far too short, Ryan’s legacy will continue through the faith he lived, the lives he influenced, and the family he loved so deeply. His example of selfless service, steadfast devotion to God, and unconditional love for others will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Ryan will be remembered not only for what he accomplished but for who he was—a faithful servant of Christ, a loving husband, an incredible father, a cherished son and brother, and a loyal friend. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but those who loved him find comfort in knowing that his faith has become sight and that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
Ryan’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Hope Community Church, located at 821 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh, North Carolina with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
His Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:30 p.m.
