Sharon Tucker Herring, 68, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Archer Lodge, NC (formerly of Robeson County and Fair Bluff, NC) passed away on September 9, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 1,1958, in Dillon, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Howard Tucker and Cleia Ann Tucker of Robeson County.
Sharon’s greatest love and the thing that made her happiest was spending time with her family. She enjoyed spoiling and loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. "Granny" enjoyed music, the beach, and teaching people to cook. In the past, she liked to bake cakes and share with co-workers, family and friends. Sharon was a recent retiree of United Rentals and was known for her dedication to her career.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Caulder and nephew, Kendall Tucker.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Glenn Herring of the home; daughter, Jennifer Leigh Herring of the home; son, Michael Glenn Herring (Toi) of Clayton; stepdaughter, Angela Herring Washington of Fair Bluff; her grandchildren, Kelsea McFerrin, Ryder Wolfe, Charlotte Herring, Whitley Harper McAdams, and Sadie McAdams; great-grandchildren, Carter and Tucker McFerrin all of Clayton, NC; her brother, Howard Tucker (Vallie Sue) of Orrum, NC, and several extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, NC at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm, just prior to the service.
God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be. He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, "COME TO ME". You don't deserve what you went through so HE gave you needed rest; God's garden must be Beautiful HE only takes THE BEST.
