Sharon Lynn Swaney, age 61, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Smithfield, NC. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on December 30, 1964, she was a daughter to Arthur Swaney and her late mother Emma Jean Swaney.
Sharon graduated from Eastern Vocational Tech and worked in food service. She also worked in different nursing homes for some time. After moving to North Carolina, Sharon started working for the Tammy Lynn Center with children and adults with disabilities which she loved. She was the life of the party and loved bowling, going to the beach and riding her motorcycle. Sharon was a kind person who will be dearly missed by her family.
Per Sharon’s wishes, there will be no formal services.
Sharon is survived by her father, Arthur Swaney of Selma, NC; sisters, Kimberly Bittner of New Market, MD, and Lori Galvan of Felton, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
