A celebration of life service for Ted will be held 2:00pm Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Life Community Church in Jamestown, North Carolina. The family will receive friends after the service, at the church.
Ted was born in Guilford County to the late Reverend George Henry McBride and the late Helen Gardner McBride. He was retired after 13 years of service for the City of Greensboro. He enjoyed lunch outings with close friends, walks in Barber Park, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and UNC basketball, and spending quality time with his children and family. Though most importantly, Ted enjoyed serving his Lord by being a devoted and active member of his church, Life Community/Mosaic Community. Ted volunteered in children’s church and Sunday school over the years and also served as an usher, touching many lives of those he encountered.
He is survived by his two children, Joshua Aaron McBride of Greensboro, and Shannon Nicole McBride of Clayton; sister, Sharon McBride Phelps of Charlotte; niece, René Cassady and husband Mark of Mooresville; nephew, Dr. Christopher Phelps and wife Amber of Waxhaw; great niece, Morgan Cassady of Belmont; great nephews, Cameron Cassady of Mooresville, and Riley & Liam Phelps of Waxhaw; as well as many wonderful, loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
