Terry Lynn Perry

Terry was born on February 16, 1961, in Johnston County to Betsy Baggett Perry and the late Calvin Perry. Terry loved baseball and played at Clayton High School, where he was known for his throwing arm. After graduating from Clayton High School, he went to Wilson Community College. He was a volunteer fireman for the Thanksgiving Volunteer Fire Dept. The majority of his career was spent in the petroleum industry. In 2000, he started his own company, Petroleum Solutions Inc. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Petroleum Equipment Institute.

Those who knew Terry, knew of his love for his family, friends, and the outdoors. He lived a life full of joy, humor, and happiness. He especially liked baseball and fishing. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. He and his wife Katie enjoyed traveling to different ballparks across the country to watch his O’s play. He loved fishing the North Carolina coast and the beautiful blue waters of the Florida Keys and the Caribbean.

He was married to the love of his life, Katie, for over 27 years. He was proud of his two daughters, Amber and Ashley, fourth generation teachers in the family. He enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren and teaching them about the great outdoors.

Terry is survived by Katie Lee Perry; daughter Amber Perry Smith and husband Wesley; daughter Ashley Perry Blevins and husband Corey; grandchildren Harper Lee Smith, Calvin Scot Smith, Piper Lynn Blevins, Drew Perry Blevins, and Andy Dennis Blevins; sister Susan Perry Matney and husband Roger; and nephew Matthew Perry Matney.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Terry’s name to Toys for Tots this holiday season at www.toysfortots.org, or feel free to drop off toys at a local collection center.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Thanksgiving Baptist Church, 6701 NC Highway 42E, Selma, 27576, from 12:30 - 1:30 pm with on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Internment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 12830 Clayton Blvd, Clayton 27520, after the service.
