Thomas Kunzmann passed away August 8, 2021 after a short illness. He was born and raised in the Bavarian town of Fussen, Germany. After receiving his Braumeister certification in Munich, Thomas came to North Carolina in 1987 to work at one of the first micro-breweries in North Carolina and worked at several other early micro-breweries over the years.
Thomas was predeceased by his father Otto Kunzmann and is survived by his wife Karen Luhring Kunzmann, daughter Kathryn S Kunzmann in North Carolina, mother Helga Kunzmann and brother Stefan Kunzmann in Germany.
After many happy times spent at the NC Outer Banks, we will end where we began and cast our fate to the ocean.
A gathering of remembrance for Thomas will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at McLaurin Funeral Home, 12830 Us 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, North Carolina 27520.
