Victoria (Vicki) Cheryl Lipscomb Toler passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the age of 78, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was born on February 19, 1948 in Orlando, Florida to her late parents, J. C. and Mary Floyd Lipscomb. Her family moved from Florida to Johnston County in 1950 and settled in the Wilsons Mills community in 1957. She graduated from Wilsons Mills High School in 1966.
She married Frank Toler on September 27, 1970 in Fayetteville. They moved to Texas in 1975 and returned to Wilsons Mills in 1983, where they made their forever home. Vicki was a homemaker and a precise and meticulous seamstress. She did volunteer work for her church and at her son and granddaughter's schools. Vicki became a hospice volunteer in the mid-1990s, serving patients across Johnston County. She was presented the North Carolina Governor’s Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service in 1995 for her dedication to her patients welfare. Vicki enjoyed living in Texas but was “all things North Carolina” – from the coast to the mountains. She lived her life based on the Proverbs 31 model.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank Toler; son, Chris Toler; brother, James Lipscomb Jr. and his wife, Sandra; granddaughter, Juliet Toler; brother-in-law Allen Toler, and his wife Phyllis; sister-in-law Tara Brocklesby; nephews Byron Lipscomb and Tyler Brocklesby; nieces, Pam and Dana Lipscomb; several grand nephews and grandnieces; and several cousins.
A private graveside service will be held for Vicki at Knollwood Memorial Park in Clayton. Longtime friend Pastor David Brantley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vicki’s name may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P O Box 2000, Boone, NC 28607 (samaritanspurse.org).
