
Virgie Marie McMillion Coffey passed away peacefully September 18, 2016 at the age of 83. She was born on December 29, 1932 in McGraws, West Virginia and married Daniel Coffey Sr. October 13, 1951. She had two children in West Virginia, Daniel Evan Coffey Jr. and Ellen Yvonne Coffey. She then moved to Virginia and had two more children, Nancy Ann Coffey and David Edwin Coffey. Virgie and Daniel worked a long career at Walmart; However, after Daniel passed away, she moved to Clayton, North Carolina. Virgie had a variation of interests and hobbies. Gardening was an enormous passion as she had flowers and plants wherever she would go. She had a green thumb and way of making plants live that could amaze even the finest of gardeners. Sewing, reading, collecting ceramics, cooking, frogs, apples, roosters, and church were all important parts of her livelihood, but most of all family was her most prized possession. She had a way of making the worst situations better by just a ‘pat of the hand’. Her love echoes in all of her children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren. Virgie is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Coffey Sr.; Her mother and father John Gilbert McMillion and Audi Mae McMillion; Her brothers Henry, Leonard, Dewey, Harry, Joe, Harvey McMillion, and Ed Trump; As well as her grandson Danny Coffey. Virgie is survived by her siblings Ellie McMillion Wood, Ellen McMillion Tilley, Doris McMillion Preston and her husband Bill Preston; Her children Daniel Coffey Jr. and his wife Linda Coffey, David Coffey, Nancy Hunt-Smith, Yvonne Colvin and her husband Ricky Colvin; Grandchildren Ricky Colvin II, Roger Colvin, Reynolds Colvin and his wife Theresa Colvin, Terra Southa and husband Derek Southa, Bobby Hunt and wife Brittany Hunt, Daphne Coffey, Kathirya Estela, Billy Coffey, and Chris Coffey; Great grandchildren Ashley Branch and husband Dustin Branch, Ryan Colvin, Zoey Colvin, Isaiah Hunt, Cordelia Southa, Cairen Southa, Kimberly Colvin, Brady Mesimer, and Robby Mesimer. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Although Virgie had many friends, a special mention goes to Dennis Tate for being a great friend and brother.
