Funny thing happened with Fallon about two weeks after your passing . Out of the blue she asked Lydia, “Can we go see the old boy? Yaya’s friend, the old boy in the bed in the big building.”

Sophia visited before she left for Alaska, returning from Alaska and flew down immediately from Massachusetts when she knew you were leaving. On each living visit, she brought Julian with whom you giggled.

It was my pleasure to be at your side every week, sometimes several times a week from February until your last breath. I wanted to “Rise Up” (Andra Day) for you, when you needed me most. I know that true friends don’t walk away because, things become challenging, painful or breathtaking. I would never leave my battle buddy alone dying in the sand or the jungle.

As you rest in peace Willian Dixson Hood II, know that we “were the best couple that never married or divorced”.
