Zachary Reid Tew

Zachary Reid Tew, born on October 23, 1987, in Dunn, North Carolina, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 38. He was known by the name Zack to his friends and family. Zack was home-schooled and graduated with his high school diploma in 2005. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps from May 12, 2012, to February 26, 2016, and served one tour of duty in Afghanistan. He was a decorated Marine having received the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan, Expert Rifle Qualification Badge, and the Sharpshooter Pistol Qualification Badge.

Zack was technologically savvy and was often called upon to repair home computers, both hardware and software systems, for friends ,family, and clients. His hobbies were gaming and fishing, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He married his wife, Brittany, on October 23rd, 2023, and had two stepchildren, Lily, age 7, and Barry, age 4. Zack and Brittany added a son to the family, Ransom Reid Tew, on June 28th, 2024. Zack and his family resided in Clayton, NC, at the time of his passing.

Zack is survived by his wife, Brittany; his three children, Lily, Barry, and Ransom; his father, Kelly Tew and stepmother, Darlene Tew; and his mother, Karen Ball.
