Georgeanne spent most of her early school years in Fremont, California, and graduated from El Capitan High School in El Cajon, California, where she lettered in track, volleyball and the swim team. Outside of school she was an avid bowler and bowled on many junior leagues. She moved to Redmond, Washington with her family in 1977. She attended Bellevue Community College in WA for two years and enjoyed pitching for various local softball teams, advancing to a “nationals final game” one year with a Redmond team. It was in Redmond that she took up golf, a pastime she would enjoy throughout her lifetime. Her life included time in Ronald, Washington, where she took up horseback riding and snowmobiling, and then her “Bent Pine Ranch” in South Cle Elum. Over the past 15 years Roslyn has been Georgeanne’s home, where she enjoyed a long career exporting hay through employment with Calaway Trading Co. in Ellensburg. She was an active member and office holder in the Roslyn Eagles Aeries 696. Two years ago, she lost her significant other, Tracy Birchman. Her life also included the love of 5 cats and one dog, Summer.
Georgeanne was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Orr, and her younger sister Terry Orr. She is survived by her father, George Orr, her aunt Lucile Weisbeck (husband Peter) and her uncle Ronald Nierstheimer, of Billings, Montana.
Services for Georgeanne Orr will be held on November 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cle Elum Alliance Church, 327 Madison, South Cle Elum, Washington. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Georgeanne’s name to ARRF Animal Rescue of Cle Elum, by contacting Lori Clemente at 509-304-4805 or [email protected].
