Gus graduated from high school in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated with an Aeronautical Engineering Degree in California. He married Darlene Nordquist on August 23, 1951, in Inglewood, CA.
Gus worked as an Aeronautical Engineer for Boeing.
He enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hiker of the many trails in the Pacific Northwest. Gus also enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Nelson of Cle Elum; daughters, Jeannine, Laura, and Anne; sons, James, Thomas and Glenn; sister, Gloria; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Cascade Funeral Home in Cle Elum.
