

Tom was born September 21, 1937 in Pueblo, CO. to Lee and Ethel (Cameron) Ferguson. His family moved to Othello, WA. in 1947. In his younger years he joined the Adams Country Rural Fire Dept. He also sold popcorn at the show house in the evening, then began working for his dad learning contracting. After graduating from Othello High School in 1956 Tom worked as a brakeman for the Milwaukee Railroad, where he later met his wife Sandy Bago. A year later he joined the United States Coast Guard, where he served as a ship swimmer and damage control man. On May 9, 1959 Tom and Sandy married at Immaculate Conception Church in Roslyn, WA. Tom was transferred from the ship to the Coast Guard base in Seattle where he finished his tour of duty. Upon his discharge in 1961, he rejoined his dad in The Woodworking business, and became the Adams Co. Rural Fire chief for 14 years. Where he later became president of Adams Co. Fireman’s Association in 1967.
Tom was a hardworking fella and was also community minded. He was president and member of the Lions Club and received many awards. He also served on the City's Planning Commission. Tom was the type of fella that was always willing to help anyone that was in need.
Tom and Sandy raised two daughters, Cynthia born July 8, 1961, and Holly born August 8 1967 and we opened our home to many of their friends to live.
In 1975 Tom took over his father’s Home Improvement Center and Building Contracting business and ran that till he retired in 1992. They then moved to their cabin in the Cle Elum area.
Toms hobbies were building anything out of wood, loved camping, enjoyed sleeping outside (weather permitting), fishing, boating and working in his garden, of which had an abundance of flowers. Tom and Sandy traveled a lot in their motorhome, discovering new places and meeting old and new friends and enjoyed having morning coffee with the fella's at the Sunset.
Tom passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 26, 2015. He is joining his daughter Holly and his parent’s lee and Ethel, his grandparents and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
Tom is survived by his wife Sandy of 56 years, his daughter Cynthia (Jim) Lewis of Othello, his sister Nancy Lee Roth of Othello and Toms pride and joy his grandchildren Josh Ferguson & Anna, Scooter (Sam) Lewis, Jay (Joyce) Dickman, Zach (Laura) Lewis, Sean Dickman, Haylee Dickman, Beau Lewis, Codee Ferguson and his 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be in early summer as per Tom's request.
