Born on Sunday March 17, 1945 in Clearfield, he was the son of Wayne and Lorraine (Shaffer) Ross.
Art was raised on the Ross Dairy Farm. He had been employed by Goodman’s I.G.A., Miller Auto Parts as well as, Thomas Coal Company, where he was a mechanic foreman. Art was part of the construction of Interstate 80.
He was a welder and mechanic by trade. Also, Art was a stock car driver on the local short track in the early 70’s. He especially enjoyed the outdoors.
He was Baptist by faith.
Mr. Ross is survived by four sons: Greg Ross and his wife Pat of Curwensville, Chad B.Ross and his wife Deanna of Marron, Randy D. Ross and his wife Terri of Grampian and Jamie K. Ross and his wife Hannah of Marron: thirteen grandchildren: Kristian, Kevin, Cindy, Blair, Amanda, Nikki, Kurt, Kacey, Matt, Nick Taylor, Morgan, Charlotte and Eric; Seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Barbara Wise and her husband Bill of Ansonville, Virginia Ross Bloom and her husband Claude of Clearfield, and Gwen McCartney and her husband Bruce of Marron; also surviving is his former wife Patricia Addleman Ross of Curwensville and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. at 312 E. Locust Street in Clearfield with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Interment will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery in Ansonville.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the funeral home and on Friday from Noon until the hour of services.
