December 6, 1926 – January 13, 2019
Barbara E. Palovcsik, 92, 11 Schoolhouse Road, Danville, Pa passed from this world to the world Triumphant and Eternal on January 13, 2019.
Barbara, born December 6, 1926 in Clearfield, Pa, was a daughter of the late Albert R. and Ona (O’Conner) Graham. She was a 1945 graduate of Clearfield HS and attended Shadyside Nursing School in Pittsburg, Pa. She lived a life of service as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, nurse’s aide at Grandview Nursing Home and then as a unit desk clerk on the cardiac and surgical wards at Clearfield Hospital. Barbara believed health care workers were some of the most patient, dedicated, and selfless people, and she was proud to be one of them.
Barbara was married to Paul Palovcsik on August 14, 1946 and they remained dedicated to one another for 68years!
Barb was a member of West Side United Methodist Church in Clearfield, Pa. Among her interests were reading, golfing, enjoying her home on Guinea Hill Road, spending winters at Gulf Shores, Alabama, and spoiling her grandchildren!
She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Barbara of Pewaukee, Wisconsin; her son Norman of St College, Pa; her son Dennis and wife Terry Lee of Clearfield, Pa; her daughter Cathy of Waterford, Pa; and her daughter Susan Rogutski and husband Leonard of Catawissa, Pa., 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Paul, a granddaughter Amy, three brothers: Francis, Norman, and Leroy, and two sisters: Georgie and Louise. A private celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in the summer of 2019 when her ashes (and the ashes of her late husband, Paul) will be interned together at Fort Indiantown Gap.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to West Side United Methodist Church, 317 Nichols Street Clearfield, Pa 16830 or to The Emmanuel Center, 11 Schoolhouse Road, Danville, Pa 17821.
