Betsy Woolridge Hugney

Born March 21, 1946, in Clearfield, the daughter of Richard C. “Dick” and Gloria (Woolridge) Karchner.

Betsy was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School.

She was Catholic by Faith.

Betsy loved all animals.

Betsy is survived by her two siblings; Bobbie Carlson of Victorville, CA and Rick Karchner and his wife Carole of Clearfield; a birth daughter, Pam Acey; four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Virginia Hugney and a son, Melvin B. Hugney, Jr.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Betsy will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Nick McBride officiating. Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield County SPCA, 275 21st Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
