

Born on December 4, 1933 in Clearfield, he was the son of Dean R. and Flora (Carns) Long.
Pete graduated from Clearfield Area High School. After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force served with Installations Sq-Hq 823 Combat Support Group.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
On December 28, 1968, he wed Nancy J. Marsh in Lynchburg, VA.
Pete was a Quality Technician for Harbison-Walker Refractories, Clearfield for many years. Pete was a dedicated provider for his family. He worked many jobs over the years to ensure his daughter would get the chance to go to college.
Everyone who knew Pete knew he lived and breathed blue and white. He loved PSU football and Joe Paterno. He was able to recall many statistics that men half his age could not. He also enjoyed high school wrestling.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Miranda and her husband, Clyde Jr of Franklin; four grandchildren, Clyde Miranda, III, Isabella Miranda, Edward Mattocks, and Kathryn Miranda, and a very special niece and nephew, Jackie and Robert Harmic, Clearfield.
Pete is also survived by one brother, David Long of NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy who died on October 12, 2020, and seven siblings, Mary Jane Cupples, Frank Long, Dean Richard Long, Carolyn Broderick, Margaret Wenniger, Dorothy Byers, and Abraham Long.
Pete’s daughter, Laurie, would like to express how thankful she is for the care he received and all the memories he made at The Dubois Nursing Home.
In honoring Pete’s wishes, there will not be any public services.
