Donna J. Cowder

Mrs. Cowder was a 1952 graduate of Clearfield High School and a 1986 graduate of Dubois Business College.

She was formerly employed as a medical secretary and transcriptionist then retired from the Universal Health System after twenty two years.

She was a former member Christ United Methodist Chirch of Clearfield, where she served as the church secretary for over thirty years.

She was a former member of Elk Hose Company of Clearfield, the BJW Fire Company Auxiliary and the State College Business and Professional Women’s Club.

She was survived by her husband, Homer S. Cowder whom she married November 28, 1988, stepdaughter Jeanette Dunlap Ostrofsky and her husband Eric, two step grandchildren, Rick Dunlap and his wife Kelly of Munson and Jessica Dunlap and her fiancé Bill Little of Hawk Run, plus three step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, one nephew , Michael Rafferty and his wife Debi of Florida, also several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester C. Diehl in 1960 and Sarah Dorothea (Strong) Diehl in 1965 and one sister; Beverly G. Rafferty in 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Kathy Leigey officiating. Interment will be at the Bigler cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the hour of services.
