She is also survived by the wonderful and loving Nelson family, Hudson family and nephews; Richard and his wife Beverly of Treasure Lake, Edward and his wife Jennifer of Clearfield and Harry and his wife Carolyn of Locust Grove, GA and their lovely families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard Arnold Nelson who passed away March 9, 2002 and whom she married December 31, 1944, two brothers; Roper and Harry Hudson and two infant sisters.
Dorothy started working for Clearfield School District in the 1970’s, loved working with children and many remembered her as the years went by, as they often would wave and say hello Mrs. Nelson! As she usually did, she giggled with joy in her heart. We are sure the angels are sitting around with her just listening to her infectious laughter, with her family close by. She was never one to give up on her family or life. If she was needed she was there, until this day. She took great pride in her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and nothing made her happier than when they were near. They kept the glow in her soul bright.
As per Mrs. Nelson’s request there will be no public visitation. The family will celebrate her life as she would have wanted them to in private. But, as she told family members often, she was so grateful for all of the friends and neighbors she had come to love over the years and will always cherish their memory. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
She fought the good fight and has won; now being in her Heavenly Home with her beloved husband, “Woody”. As she watches over us now, we thank her for being here for us, taking care of us and always just being you, our mother, grandmother and friend. A special person, a special face and a special someone we can never replace. Take care of her in your loving arms, holding tightly onto her, our Savior in Heaven.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the youth programs at the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre, 112 East Locust Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 or the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 South Front Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
