Born August 15, 1929 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Ogden was the daughter of the late Frank and Hilma C. (Johnson) Boyle. On June 30, 1951, she married Lyle W. ‘Slug” Ogden. They shared over 50 years of marriage together.
After graduating high school in Clearfield, she was employed by Kurtz Bros. for 33 years. Upon retirement, she focused on the role of supportive and loving Grandma. She was always eager to support Corey and Cammeron at their events and activities and spend as much time as she could with them.
Mrs. Ogden was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. She loved gathering with family, whether it was around the table for a card game, or hosting a meal to share stories and laughter together. In the summertime, she could often be found sitting in the garage, waving to friends and neighbors who would drive by. Mrs. Ogden enjoyed creating ceramics, reading, and baking. Her kitchen was often filled with homemade treats made with love. More than anything, she found joy not in keeping things for herself, but in sharing her time, talents and generosity with the people she loved most.
She is survived by a son, Richard W. Ogden of Clearfield; two grandchildren, Corey (Sara) Kendall and Cammeron Ogden; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle W. ‘Slug’ Ogden; daughter-in-law, Vickie Ogden; an unborn granddaughter; four sisters, Madeline Mann, Sara Sherwin, Ruth Derrick, and Donna Dodge; and a brother, Richard Boyle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield on Wednesday May 27, 2026 at 11:00AM with Pastor Stevan Sheets officiating. Friends will be received beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in the Historic Crown Crest Cemetery, Hyde.
