Dorothy E Wigfield

Born on October 6, 1924 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Charles Coy and Mabel Elizabeth (Devling) Eshelman.

Mrs. Wigfield retired from the former Clearfield Cheese Company after nearly twenty years of service.

She was affiliated with West Side United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Wigfield was active in the Clearfield Fire Company Auxiliary for many years and was an avid camper and enjoyed people.

She is survived by two sons: Gary C. Wigfield and his wife, Kendra, and Terry L. Wigfield, Sr. and his wife, Holly, all of Clearfield; four grandchildren: Stephanie Reed and her husband, Jeff, of Winchester, VA, Stacy Nawrocki and her husband, Steve, of Erie, PA, Terry L. Wigfield, Jr. and his companion, Mandy Billotte, of Clearfield, and Megan Beck and her husband, Tim, of Germantown, MD; and three great granddaughters: Madison Reed, Dannilynn Wigfield, and Lia Nawrocki. She was the last surviving member of her generation.

Mrs. Wigfield was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Delford R. “Del” Wigfield whom she married on October 6, 1945 and who passed away on October 23, 2010, a brother William A. Eshelman and a sister Ruth Elizabith Ishman.

Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
