Edith M. McDermott

Mrs. McDermott was born March 20, 1938 in Leicester, England the daughter of Arthur and Lily (Cox) Matthews.

She worked in title abstracting for twenty-six years.

Mrs. McDermott was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield and the Trans Atlantic Brides and Parents Association.

She was former president of the Randolph, TX Air Force Base club and the Minot, ND Air Force Base club.

Mrs. McDermott is survived by her husband, Francis S. McDermott whom she married August 30, 1958 in Leicester, England, three children; Debra Pietrovito and her husband John P. of Muncy, PA., Paul A. McDermott and his wife Betsey of Clearfield and Sandra E. Wills and her husband James of Greenville, SC., seven grandchildren; Shawn Pietrovito, Kyle Pietrovito and his wife Christa, Patrick McDermott and his wife Annie, Michael McDermott, Meagan McDermott, Matthew Wills and T J Wills, a sister, Veronica Sutton of Leicester, England, a niece, Lisa Sutton, two nephews; Steven and Andrew Sutton and their golden retriever, Barney.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arthur Matthews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, Curwensville with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 7 to 9 P.M.
