Obituary of Edward C. Baum
IN THE CARE OF

Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc.

Edward C Baum, 83, of Hyde, passed away early Saturday morning, February 14th 2026 at his home with family by his side.

He was born October 8,1942 in Coalport, PA the son of the late Clarence and Margaret Baum.

After high school, Ed enlisted in the US Navy in 1961 where he served 6 years and was honorably discharged in January 1967.

Ed worked for Beth Energy Mines in Ebensburg, PA for 21 years.

He was a member of the American Legion in Clearfield PA and was also a member of the Central Mountain Region AACA in Clearfield where he was a proud owner of his 1970 Monte Carlo.

He enjoyed woodworking, riding his John Deere Tractor and going to the antique car shows.

He is survived by his wife of over 46 years, Leona (McConnell) Baum whom he wed July 4, 1979; seven children, Sandy Stuczynski and husband Michael, Mike Shotts and wife Cyndi, Carla Hawk and husband Ken, Bryan Shotts and wife Sandy, Melissa Sullivan and husband David, Amy Morrison and husband Don, and Allen Shotts; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Ed is also survived by siblings Madeline McGarvey, Steve Baum, and Mary Ellen O’Donnell and husband Denny, and Cathy Skebeck and her husband Pat.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two children, MaryAnn Hoffman and Melissa McCoy; a brother, Pete Baum; and a sister Norma Jean Wagner.

At the request of the Mr. Baum, there will not be any public services observed.
