Edward Lester Smith

He was born May 21, 1940 in Clearfield, PA; he was the son of Buford and Irene (Wisor) Smith.

Mr. Smith was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.

He retired after 24 years from Penn Dot and also worked for Ford Motors Co., New Jersey and Clearfield Kurtz Brothers Company.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Connie (Mullen) Smith, of Mineral Springs whom he married on May 19, 1961, a daughter, Sherry L. Shirey and her husband John of Mineral Springs, three grandchildren; John Shirey II, Shannon Shirey and Ivan Skolnekvoich III, and his sister, Pricilla Teats of Mineral Springs and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jennifer Skolnekvoich, a grandson, Jason Shirey, two brothers; Arthur Smith and Jimmy Smith and a sister, Gloria Valenza.

There will be a Private Memorial Service held at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
