Mrs. Thompson was born February 12, 1921 in Olanta, the daughter of Ralph and Minnie (Rowles) Cathcart.
She had been Knox Township Tax Collector for 25 years.
Mrs. Thompson was a charter member of the Olanta Lutheran Church where she participated in the Bible Class.
She was a Rosie the Riveter in Buffalo, NY while her husband served in the United States Army in the Pacific during WWII.
Emma is survived by six daughters; Nancy Siglinger of Yorktown, VA, Sandy Best and her husband John of Grampian, Barbara Fears and her husband Bruce of Seattle, WA, Debra Howell and her husband Ed and Kandi Pollick and her husband Rodney all of Olanta and Robin Thompson of Mineral Springs, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two sisters; Nora Kula of Olanta and Florence Marshall and her husband Sam of Wrightstown, NJ, numerous nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Nancy Cathcart of Olanta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alfred J. “Iggie” Thompson whom she married June 16, 1942 and who passed away May 30, 1986 and five brothers; Ward, Ardell, Ralph Jr., Kenneth and Robert Cathcart.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Pastor Richard Steurnagle officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olanta.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6 to 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the hour of services.
