
Forshia graduated from Clearfield High School, marking the beginning of a life filled with cherished memories and accomplishments. On September 3, 1983, she wed Clifford E. "Cliff" Hockman, who passed away on May 31, 2001.
She is survived by her daughter, Monica K. Smeal, of Clearfield, and five grandchildren: Eric Lansberry, Tara Lansberry, Lindsy Lansberry, and Kayla Peachman, along with five great-grandchildren. Forshia was the last of her generation, preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Martin Elliot Smeal and her sister, Gloria "DeDe" Mitchell.
In her personal life, Forshia had been employed for a number of years as a supervisor for GC Murphys and Murphy Mart in Clearfield. Forshia enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her love of playing games, especially Scrabble. She often reminisced about her many trips to New York City with her family. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, Forshia also expressed her artistic talents by entering her pictures each year at the Clearfield County Fair, where she delighted in winning ribbons.
Forshia was deeply involved in her church, Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Clearfield, where she was an active member. Her spirit of service and dedication to her faith were evident to all who knew her.
