Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the home of her daughter in Pocatello, Idaho surrounded
by family. She was the last of her generation.
Born on January 30, 1925, she was the daughter of Walter Lee and Mae (Holt)
Spriggle. She attended Clearfield Area Schools.
On June 19, 1947, she wed Hiram (Jim) Welker, Jr. They made their home in the
Clearfield area and in Shiloh, Woodland, RD.
Jerry was employed for several years at the former Clearfield Hospital working in the
Housekeeping Department. She then worked at The Bakery Hut in Curwensville, followed by
working at her granddaughter’s daycare in Clearfield. In her earlier years, she and her
husband Jim enjoyed many evenings dancing at the Clearfield Eagles.
She will be best remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who would
always assist when needed. She had a spunky spirit even into her recent years. She
loved to bake; her specialty being homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, and pecan
pie. Her baking was enjoyed by family and friends.
She enjoyed attending several of her grandchildren’s school, dance, scout, sports
and karate events in the Clearfield area. She especially loved family holiday
gatherings and picnics.
Her passion was coloring beautiful scenes and creating stunning artwork.
Jerry raised four children who survive: Ronald Welker and his wife, Sharon of
Curwensville; Randie Donnell and her husband, Elbert of Pocatello, Idaho; Barbara
Corman, Idaho Falls, Idaho; and granddaughter, Sabrina Krineski and her husband,
Russell of Clearfield; 10 grandchildren: Pam Tew, Linda Maines, Renee Naylor,
Ronald S. Welker, Ash Talbot, Shannon Ferrin, Bradley Welker, Dustin Weaver,
Ashlynn Cochran, Shawn Grunig, numerous great and great-great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant, a brother, Bill Spriggle,
and one great-grandchild, Casey Tew.
At the request of Mrs. Welker, all services will be private. Interment will be in
Bradford Cemetery.
