Gwendolyn A. Condon, 84, of Clearfield, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Knickerbocker Villa. She was born on April 14, 1934 in Reynoldsville the daughter of the late Arnold and Gwendolyn (Barr) Swales. On January 22, 1954 she married Thomas L. Condon, who preceded her in death on October 10, 2009. Retired, Gwendolyn worked as a secretary for 30 years at Dimeling and Schrot Insurance. She was a member of Shawville United Methodist Church. She volunteered her time with the American Cancer Society. Gwen is survived by her three children: Thomas L. Condon, Jr. and his companion Donna Kelley of Clearfield, Pamela A. Condon of Grassflat and Matthew A. Condon and his wife Nancy of Clearfield; six grandchildren: Jennifer Behel, Andrew Allen, Todd L. Condon, Shawna Steen, Maxwell Condon and Stephanie Cox; ten great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; three siblings: Paul Swales and his wife Mary, Cora Mae Schnars and her husband Blaine, Shirley Evans and her husband Bruce all of Clearfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Robert Henry officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery. The family will received friends on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the funeral home. An additional hour of viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10am until the hour of services. Memorial contributions may be made The American Cancer Society.
