James G. Kanouff

James G. Kanouff, 63, of Clearfield passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home.

He was born December 5, 1948 in West Decatur, the son of Harry Woodrow and Mary Elizabeth (Mellott) Kanouff.

Mr. Kanouff was Protestant by faith.

He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during Vietnam with the 101st Air Borne.

Mr. Kanouff retired as a truck driver.

He was a member of of the VFW of Clearfield, Am Vets and West Decatur Sportsman’s Club.

Mr. Kanouff is survived by his wife, Sharon L. (Rishel) Kanouff, of Clearfield and three sons; Christopher Kanouff, Shawn Kanouff and Adam Kanouff, all of Clearfield, eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter, one brother, Harry Kanouff and two sisters; Judy Litz and JoAnn Stiner and her husband John all of Morrisdale and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Billy J. Kanouff, two brothers; Toby J. and David A. Kanouff.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. a the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield with Pastor James Walk officiating. Interment will be in the Reidy Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 7-9 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the services.

The world lost a good man who will be missed and remembered forever. Hugs and prayers to the entire family. So sorry I won't be able to make the trip back to say the official goodbye, but I will be thinking of all of the goods times and wonderful memories I will be able to keep close to my heart.
