

Born May 12, 1929 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Leafy Moriarity.
Mr. Moriarity was a member of Westside United Methodist Church, Clearfield. James was an Army Veteran of both WW II and Korea. He was employed as a truck driver for Taftco and retired from Keystone Carriers.
James enjoyed camping, fishing and loved wolves.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 5 children: Karen L. Middleton and husband Denny, Clearfield; Kevin J. Moriarity, Osceola Mills; Kathie J. Timblin and husband Arnold, Hillsdale; Jodie L. Irwin and husband Roy, Clearfield; Keith A. Moriarity and wife JoAnna, Curwensville; daughter-in-law: Cathy Moriarity, Holidaysburg; 2 step sons: Blair D. McPherson and wife Sharon, Jamesburg, NJ; Joseph D. McPherson, PA; 14 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; also survived by his dog: Tippy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, step father, first wife: Freda Moriarity, infant daughter: Lorrie Moriarity, daughter: Jessie Dawn Gisewhite, son: James W. Moriarity, Jr. and a brother: Walter Moriarity.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of James W. Moriarity will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 16, 2013 at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 with Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM the time of service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
