
Born March 31, 1929 in Mahaffey, the son of S. Kenneth Hepburn and Gladys (Vite) Hepburn Davidson.
He was a graduate of Curwensville Area High School, Class of 1947.
Mr. Hepburn was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Clearfield VFW.
John had many jobs and adventures in life. He worked for Auto Mart and Sears of Clearfield and retired from NARCO in Curwensville having been part of the A-team. Following retirement, he was a greeter at Wal Mart and was a driver for Meals on Wheels. He also built and worked on stockcars and held his private pilot’s license flying Piper planes of which his family experienced some exciting flights. John also loved camping and fishing.
John is survived by his wife, Hazel D. (Mitchell) Hepburn whom he married December 24, 1953, four children; Gary Hepburn (Debbie) of Clearfield, Cathy Poeta (Ronald) of La Jose, Janet Gill (Ted) of Clearfield and Sue Davis (Terry) of Clearfield. He was Pap to eight grandchildren and Great Grandpa to eight great grandchildren.
He was the last member of his generation having been preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Ruth and Marion and a grandson, Vincent Poeta.
Honoring John’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
