Born on January 10, 1930 at home in Bigler, PA. She was the daughter of Merle and Vada (Thomas) Greene.
Joline was a 1947 graduate of Clearfield Area High School. She worked for Kurtz Brothers as a secretary. On June 24, 1950, she wed Chester D. “Bob” Bailey, Jr., who passed away on July 5, 1997.
Together Joline and Chester raised their family which included nine children. When she wasn’t cooking, canning, and baking, for her growing family, she was sewing their clothes and continued to make special clothing for her grandchildren. Joline grew herbs and loved growing flowers. She would gather the seeds from her harvest, so not to be wasteful, and continue growing a garden that flourished. Sunflowers had a special meaning to her because her husband, Chet, planted a large garden of sunflowers, which bloomed after his death. To her joy, her family continued the tradition of planting sunflowers. She was an avid walker, around five miles every day.
Joline sold Avon for several years in her spare time, however the roles she cherished most were of being a devoted child of God, wife, and mother.
Joline was a lifetime member of Centre Grove United Methodist Church, Clearfield. An active member of Centre Grove UMC, as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Vacation Bible School coordinator, Keep In Touch summer program supervisor, president of United Methodist Women, and led Homebound Worship services.
