Josephine Sorbera

Mrs. Sorbera was born January 25, 1922, in Gioiaso-Marea, Italy, the daughter of Phillip and Tindara Lena (Accordino), Accordino.

She has worked for McGregor Clothing Factory and the Clearfield Area School District in the cafeteria.

Mrs. Sorbera was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Clearfield and the Martha Washington Lodge.

She is survived by her husband Samuel Sorbera whom she married on October 19, 1946 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, two children; Rose Marie Holly and her husband Douglas of Debary, FL. and Joseph A. Sorbera and his wife Peggy of Broadlands, VA, four grandchildren; Joanna Mercier, Joshua Holly, Anne Hanover and Elizabeth Joseph and eleven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sorbera was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Nick Accordino, two infant brothers and a great grandson, Ryan Hanover.

A Mass of Christian burial will be said on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Clearfield with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., of Clearfield on Thursday, December 23, 2010 from 7-9:00 P.M. and on Friday, from 9:00-9:45 A.M. A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home at 6:45 P.M.
