Joyce A. Anderson

Born February 9, 1931, in Clearfield, the daughter of Rex W. and Mabel L. (Wilson) Ammerman.

Joyce had been owner and operator of the Hallmark Store, Anderson’s Card & Gift Shop in Clearfield.

She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield.

Joyce had been president of the Clearfield Merchants Association, Clearfield Junior Women’s Club, Hobby Garden Club and NON-Club and was a member of the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce. She also participated as a volunteer at the Clearfield Hospital.

She enjoyed participating in card clubs and was well known for the fresh pies she baked daily and delivered to the Junior Women’s Club stand at the Clearfield County Fair.

Joyce is survived by her two children: Edward R. Anderson and Elaine A. Hart and her husband Tim, all of Clearfield, three grandchildren: Ryan D. Hester (Lourdes) of Orlando, FL, Angel James (Mitch) of Mentor, OH and Timothy Hester (Megan) of Orlando, FL and three great-grandchildren: Evan Hester, Reese Hester and Blake Hester.

She was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy E. Anderson whom she married January 25, 1956, and who passed away October 4, 1977.

Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM with Rev. Robert Way officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of services.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic, 1380 Shawville Highway, Woodland, PA 16881.
