Mary Elizabeth Maines

Mary Elizabeth Maines, 88 of Clearfield, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Mt. Laurel Nursing Home, Clearfield. She was the wife of the late Wesley G. Maines who passed away on August 28, 1989.

Born May 1, 1925 in LeContes Mills, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Fulton Reynolds and Alta (Jury) Lingle.

Mary was employed with Clearfield Furs as a rug maker, prior she was employed with Curtis Wright Engineering in the mid 1950’s. She was a member of the Susquehanna CB Club and the LeContes Mills Sportsman Club. Mrs. Maines enjoyed making pies for her clubs, playing bingo and hunting.

Surviving is a son: Benson K. Maines and his wife Bonnie, Frenchville; 2 granddaughters: Sabrina Lutz, Clearfield; Belinda Maines, Morrisdale, PA; 2 great granddaughters: Brittany Michelle Tibbens and Morgan Christine Whited and husband Nathan; 1 great grandson: Dylan Wesley Lutz; 1 great great grandson: Julian Panebianco; also 5 sisters: Rose Ecker and husband Keith, Austell, GA; Jeanette Maines and husband Luke, Curwensville; Velma Owens, Clearfield; Nellie Lope, Clearfield; Margie Hummel and her husband Darrell, LeContes Mills, PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant son: Daniel Wesley Maines; 2 sisters: Ellen Liegey and Daisy Owens.

A service to celebrate the life of Mary Elizabeth Maines will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 with Rev. John White officiating. A time to share memories with the family will be from 11:00 to 1:00 PM the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gillingham Cemetery, LeContes Mills, PA.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
