Oprha Lou Kane, 88, of Clearfield, went to be with Jesus surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 18, 2019. Orpha Lou was born August 12, 1931 in McVeytown, the daughter of Russell E. and Millie (Rupert) Stine. She was a graduate of McVeytown High School and had attended Juniata College. Orpha Lou along with her husband had been co-owners of the former Radio Shack in Clearfield. She was a lifetime member of the Centre Grove United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women. Orpha Lou had volunteered at the Clearfield Hospital as an escort. Orpha Lou is survived by her four children; Jim Kane and his wife Pam, Nancy Hummel and her husband Ron, Ruth Ann Kane and Chris M. Kane and his wife Pammy all of Clearfield, nine grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Howard Heckler of Lansdale and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph J. Kane, Sr. whom she married June 9, 1951 and who passed away March 26, 1990, a daughter, Candace Kane Gormont, a grandson, Adam Daniel Kane and three sisters; Lillian Runk, Zelda Madrick and Elma Heckler. Orpha Lou was devoted to loving and taking care of her children and family. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, and being in the kitchen. She will forever be remembered for her homemade applesauce and chocolate chip cookies. Orpha Lou could cry with those who cried, and laugh with those who laughed. She had the compassion of angels and the strength of a lion king. Orpha Lou was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! (John 14:2) “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Hyde Wesleyan Church on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 2:30 PM with her son, Mr. Jim Kane and Pastor Stevan Sheets co-officiating. Dear Kane family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy. Your Mom was an amazing, strong lady. Always pleasant and smiling making it easy to see her will to live life to the fullest. In spite of broken bones and heart issues she regained her strength and kept on motoring.
She was certainly blessed to have all of her kids close and attentive. Sad to say good bye to a sweet neighbor however we are confident there’s a welcoming for her in heaven.
God Bless
Love,
Dan & Barb

Oh my, what a shock today whenever I saw your mother's obituary.

She was one of the most loving ladies I have ever known. You all know my found memories of spending so much time in your home with all of you through my close friendship with Candy. Except for you Chris, you were just a little boy. Please know I am holding all of you in my heart and prayers. We are leaving for South Carolina tomorrow morning. I am so sorry I will have to miss her service.
May God keep you in his peace . Candy and Ralph are hugging her with all of their passion, that I am sure of.
Love you all, Patty

The Kane family has been family to me for many years, Orpha Lou would see me come into the house, and you thought I lived there. She and Ralph would say make yourself at home and laugh. Fair time was our annual get together. What a great lady, friend, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, wife and just being Orpha Lou.
