

He was born on November 27, 1937 in Lock Haven, the son of William E. and Ethel (Turner) McLaughlin.
Richard had been employed as an equipment operator for Penn Dot retiring in 1992.
He attended the Olanta Lutheran Church.
Richard was an avid hunter and Pittsburgh sports fan routing for the Pirates and Steelers.
He is survived by his wife, Rose A. Smith of Hyde, a daughter, Vickie Redlinger, of Clearfield, a son Vance McLaughlin and his wife Debi, of Mahaffey and a step-daughter, Tammy Menifee and her husband Stephen, of Clearfield, five grandchildren; Carlea Patterson, Dickie Patterson, Brandi McLaughlin, Corissa McLaughlin and Ashley McLaughlin, three great grandchildren; Austin, Shianne and Alessa, two sisters and a brother, Anna Mae Dixon and her companion, Bill Bollinger, Fred McLaughlin and his wife Edna and Doreen Dixon, all of Clearfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a son, R. Vaughn McLaughlin, a step-son; Ronald C. Smith, Jr. and three sisters; Mary Haney, Shirley Gray and Millie Spingola.
Honoring Mr. McLaughlin’s wishes there will be no public vie
wing or visitation.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
