

She was born January 19, 1943 in Clearfield; the daughter of Hjalmer Verdnell and Mary (Triponey) Jacobson.
Rita was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church, Glen Richey. She worked for Kent Sportswear in Curwensville as a seamstress until her retirement.
She was a member of the Clearfield Hobby Garden Club, Ladies Aide Society of the church, and the Glen Richey Fire Company Auxiliary. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, and painting ceramics.
Survivors include: niece, Suzette Smith of Glen Richey, who resided with her; one brother, George Jacobson, and wife, Suzann of Glen Richey; and one sister, Lois Mitchell, and husband, Richard of Glen Richey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ronald H. Jacobson, Mary Joan Smith, and John V. Jacobson; maternal grandparents, Lucian and Ruth Triponey; paternal grandparents, Herman and Bessie Jacobson; and nephews, Aaron L. Jacobson and Ryan M. Jacobson.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Duane Stiner officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from the hours of 5 to 9 p.m., and on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
Interment will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Primitive Methodist Church, Glen Richey, 59 White Church Road, Glen Richey 16837.
