Robert "Bob" L. Lytle

He was born July 24, 1935, in Spring Valley, the son of Willis and M. Genevieve (Maines) Lytle.

A graduate of Clearfield Area High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served for 20 years. During that time, his work included maintaining the mission recorder system of the SR-71 Blackbird and serving at an Atlas missile site. He then worked and retired as an electronics technician for Sears in Clearfield.

Known by most as Bob, he touched many lives with his humor and quiet, generous spirit. He enjoyed simple pleasures like having a cup of coffee on his porch, working in his garage, and watching cowboy movies. His grandchildren were the lights of his life, and he loved to make them laugh. He will be greatly missed and forever loved and remembered.

Bob was affiliated with the Bible Tabernacle of Mineral Springs.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly D. Knepp and her husband Dan of Woodland and Michele R. McAdoo and her husband Brian of Cranberry Township; three grandchildren, Michael Knepp, Emily McAdoo and Katie McAdoo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the last member of his generation having been preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby D. (Wisor) Lytle whom he married October 26, 1957, and who passed away May 25, 2004; a son, Jeffrey L. Lytle, who passed away December 28, 2022; three brothers: Lynn, Burton and Gordon Lytle and a sister, Shirley English.

Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM with Pastor Michael Knepp officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield Honor Guard. Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until the hour of services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
