

Ron attended Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and later graduated from Penn College of Williamsport. Early on, he embarked on a career that showcased his dedication, work ethic, and warmth. He worked for Piper Aircraft for ten years and then for Lezzer Lumber in Curwensville. Ron pursued several business ventures later in life, including opening a local tanning salon and investing in real estate properties in Clearfield and the surrounding area. He finally retired after eight years of service in retail. Guided by his Christian faith, he lived with kindness and compassion, generously offering his time and help to his church, friends, and family.
On May 7, 1977, Ron married Marilyn K. Bell in the Grampian Church of God. Together, they raised three children, Geremy L. (Taylor A. Fox-Hoover) Hoover of Uniontown, PA; Marissa K. Hoover of Morgantown, WV; and Trisha L. (Dustin) Shirey of Clearfield. He was a proud grandfather to Claire Elisabeth Hoover of Uniontown, PA. Ron is also survived by his brother, Andrew W. (Margaret "Peg") Hoover, and his sister, Debra E. (Charles "Chuck") MacTavish of Clearfield, along with his niece and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac A. and Audrey J. (Lippert) Hoover.
Ron loved the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and cycling. He was committed to supporting local veterans’ organizations by volunteering numerous hours at various events. He also enjoyed reading, working on his investment properties, and spending time with his family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Inc., located at 312 E Locust St., Clearfield, PA, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and again on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow on September 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rex Evans officiating. Ron will be laid to rest at Stoneville Cemetery in Clearfield.
